Text window is black when trying to make subtitles

Question

Im still learning how to use the software and when i wanted to try to make subtitles, it says to use the text window but when i try to use it, it stays black

I tried selecting all audio tracks and singular ones, and it still doesnt work 😞

Your Text panel should never be that empty. There are 3 tabs (Transcript, Captions, Graphics). It either loaded incorrectly or has crashed.

Restarting PR, or even closing and reopening your project may get it working again. And resetting your workspace and resetting preferences may help.

I recommend resetting the workspace first, because it has very little downside. Also, resetting preferences does not reset the Workspace, and Workspace settings may be importing Workspaces from the project. If you reset preferences without being prepared, you can lose customization. See this page to avoid those problems:
