Question

The mask path not appear on the image

Why, when I create a mask using the Mask tool in Premiere Pro 26, does the mask path not appear on the image? I can create the mask, but the outline/path is invisible, so I can't properly draw or adjust it.

Has anyone experienced this issue or knows how to fix it?

thks

We have been working on this issue but it has proven difficult to reproduce in-house. If you are experiencing this issue, please try 26.3 beta 51 or later and let us know if you still are experiencing issues.

You haven’t read the documentation clearly. When you hover over the mask icon in the Tool Bar, there’s a popup with a link to the instructions. READ THAT. It will take five minutes and then you can start working.

And you see in the Program monitor with a Mask just created a new bit that says Clip or Frame. Clip is the ‘default’ setting, which auto-tracks the item. Frame is the manual tracking setting. With Frame on, or with the mask selected in the ECP, you do normally see the mask outline.

Thank you for your reply, but I don’t see any outline on my sequence. If I draw a rectangle, no dashed lines appear, but it does create a mask in the Effects panel.

There is a known bug about this. Check the forum on this issue.
