the new mask tool is terrbile, is awesome when tracking does everything and to mask humans and objects inside premiere, but when you need to do your own mask, trak position, change path, I simply can not do that anymore

The new mask tool is goo and awesome when it works and you do not need to do anymore, and to do masks of humans and objects inside premiere, but when you need to do your own mask, or arrange track position, change path, I simply can not do that anymore, it’s a mess. and happens a lot when visuals change angles, scale, size, rotations. terrible.

Ann is absolutely correct, the problem is you do not understand how to use the new system. If you do not read the documentation, you will not be able to use it. It is that different.

I made a forum account to reply to you. I don’t even care about this thread you are absolutely insufferable to see in the replies of every single thread, I surely thought if I made an account I could block you but unfortunately there isn’t.

Apologies if my comments upset you. But for many others, they search for my posts. To each their own.

And I totally get that a new or replaced tool that we use is a total pain in the backside. At first. No question there at all. And ... I’ve posted epic rants here myself, so that’s fine also. Have at it.

But this tool, for most users, is far more powerful than the old one. And ... if you learn how it works, is about as fast for anything you did before, just it’s different in how you do it.

Which is a pain because we all build up muscle memory to do things without needing to think about them.

BUT ... the new tool also means one doesn’t need to go to AfterEffects to rotoscope about anything anymore. Which is a huge plus for a ton of users.

No its not a mess if you have read the documentation on this:

Use object masking in Premiere Pro

If you want to animate your mask manually you need to set the Mask in the Program monitor to FRAME mode and not clip mode.
