'This project cannot be opened due to file permissions error' message in Premiere Pro

I have a monthly subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud. I have installed Adobe apps on two PCs as per my allowance. But when I open a project on my PC that was previously edited on my laptop, I get an error message saying, 'This project cannot be opened due to a file permissions error'. When I do the vice versa, i.e., open a project on my laptop that was previously edited on my PC, I don't get any error messages. Please guide me on how to fix this.

This definitely sounds like a write permission issue on your laptop rather than a licensing problem with the app.

Could you let me know how you're copying the file from your PC to your laptop? Sometimes the method used can affect the file's permissions.
