Timelapse Premier Pro not working as it should !

Hi there,

firstly i am a newbie to premier pro, i have the latest version and have followed what i would believe to be the right steps and imported from the opening page by clicking the first of a list of photo files in tiff format and they do all import as pictures and they do not sequence although the sequence button is pressed. ! therefore i have a jolt every clip.

Please can somebody guide me! none of the videos online on this topic are up to date with the latest software thank you and apologies if this is a stupid question ! it did work before a few weeks ago !

The photos are in TIFF - they have been edited in lightroom and exported as the edited TIFF files and all the number sequencig is as Lr exports. NOt sure what else it could be sorry !

Hi @richard_Gir

Glad you found a solution!  Happy to hear you're able to work again.  Would you mind posting the method here in case it can help others?

Of Course, I would expect that given my limited knowledge of Premier Pro others may already know. Given the noted way above still not working or having been removed i watched a Skillshare video and there are 2 ways quite similar that one of the 2 works and the other doesnt at the minute ! but that may be me.

Open a new project.

Do not import the files at the start.

Then go to Create a new sequence and set the sequence how you want it.

When the sequence is below in the project folder right click in the area not the on the sequence and import the files.

You can then select the first file anbd click options and select the image sequence tick and all the files will come over as a sequence and the issues menbtioned above are mitigated.

There is more to do but this is the basics and allows the footage in with no gaps in between stills.

Video is from Skillshare and Its Chris Brooker - How to create a timelapse. Section 8 and 9 Lr and Pr

54mins video but may only need no9 for Pr.

Hope this helps.

Replying to me own ! LOL

I have watched a video from Skillshare and there is clearly more ways to import the timelapses and i have found a way for it to work it seems to be ok for now. The way of simply drag dropping from all the information supplied still doesnt work but i have found a way for it to work for now and will continue to monitor it. If there is an update i would welcome being supported with either new knowledge or simply correcting. Thankyou and thank you Ana.

Hi there Rach,

I can not see any updates ? and have literally just tried this again with new footage and it does not work as i believe it should.

To re'-itterate

I have images that are in the correct format and the files are number sequenced by Lightroom when i export ready for Pr Pro.

I open a new project with the default import footage window open.

Now videos say that if i click the first file no 1 it the sequence and press sequence it should bring all over and create my timelapse. This does not happen it brings the first clip over and that is it a 5 sec still.

If i click them all and leave the sequence clicked it does bring everything over but does not sequence.

I would ask that from this seemingly basic step process and following multiple videos trying the newest possible am i doing this right now with newer changes ? if not what should i be doing as this could maybe not be broken just have changed !!

Rather frustrating seen as this way worked only a few weeks ago now. Please can you guide me the right way ! and i would recommend that the stock training videos are reviewed in the help pages because they are very good but now very much out of date especially for this topic.

Thank you in advance

Rich

Hi Ann,

I have done that and removed the dash from 10 files and that also does not help. ! it actually states that this is ok as a file type as long as theyre all the same. But yes i tried it and to no avail ! i have even looked back at the help videos here and theyre so old that they are not helpful! i am pretty sure its not me and i ahve also tried JPG and not jist tiff.

Can you send what the naming looks like?

Hi Ann,

They are all sequential and i have just done the same now created 50 new TIFF files from a shoot the other night and imported them as per instructions only click no1 and make sure sequential is ticked and nothing ! only imports the first clip. It must be something i am doing because it is not a difficult task and yet it worked the other week. Been at it for a while now ! and every time it fails and looks terrible.

Make sure the images are sequnctial and keep the name simple: 0001.tiff, 0002.tif etc.

One missing in the batch and the image sequence wont work.

Your imported image sequence will be named after the first image: 0001.tiff and will look as one clip (check the duraton) in the Project window.

Hi Rach thank you for such a fast reply.

My steps, i open the newest version 25.2.3 build 4 and create new project

it asks for a name i enter one.

Then i am greeted with an import screen and can chose my file - files.

As believed as long as the files are the right format they will appear in this instance theyre Tiff.

Also believed for a Timelapse i only have to click the first file and then the rest will follow if sequential.

They are.

Also noted that the create new sequnce switch is activated ( as standard )

It then if i only click tiff file 1 imports only 1, not all of them.

If i select them all and import them all or 5 or ten it imports these files but as individual files all in a line and then jolts in between each file. I.E my tiff files are 5 second exposures so every 5 secs it jolts and moves onto the next file there is no full sequence.

This did work a few weeks ago with these files i have not been in Pre P since until today and either it doesnt work the way it did or this isnt working at the moment, !

likely me i would expect so apologies if its a user error. ! and thank you
