Issue - The markers (comments) marked on the timeline in Premiere Pro are not getting uploaded as comments on Frame.io

Adobe Premiere Pro version number - v23.3.0 Build 61

Operating system - Windows 10 64-bit (22H2)

System Info:

CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz

GPU and Driver version - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (Studio driver version - 531.61)

RAM - 32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1200MHz (17-17-17-39)

Hard Drive(s) - 931GB Crucial CT1000MX500SSD4 (SATA (SSD))   --OS SSD, software installed here.                                                                                                                       Footage/source is present here.
931GB Hitachi HGST HTS721010A9E630 (SATA)    --HDD (other storage)
931GB Samsung PSSD T7 USB Device (USB (SATA) (SSD))
--external SSD for previews                                                                                                                                connected via USB Type-C

Video format - MP4 H.264 (1920x1080)

Workflow details - A basic sequence with stock footage, music, some sfx, and auto-generated captions.

Steps to reproduce -

(Pre-requisite - Ensure that the sequence timeline has a few markers/comments before proceeding.)

1. Log into Frame.io through Premiere Pro.

2. Go to Upload -> Active sequence -> Ensure settings are as per the attached image.

(ImportantMake sure to enable the check mark for - "Export markers as comments")

3. Wait for the export from Media Encoder (v23.3 Build 57) and the upload to finish on Frame.io

4. Notice the error.

Expected result - The upload should be successful without any errors and with the markers/comments added to the Frame.io file upload.

Actual result - The upload on Frame.io ends with the error for comments (image attached). As a result, the comments are not getting added for another person to review.

Comments do work if you add them directly on Frame.io AFTER the export is done.

But the functionality of automatically 'exporting markers as comments' should work properly and should be error-free. It's a crucial feature of the feedback mechanism with Frame.io integration with Premiere Pro.

Well, I think I know what's happing, thanks to your tip. The marker name is changed to something like [#l73qaZB] which is the gibberish I was talking about.

I just did a little test, I made a sequence and added three markers pressing m. I added text to the comment field for the first two. And the last just a maker name, then exported to frame.io through the panel. So I got an error, and when I checked on the website, just the first two showed up.

Back in premiere, the names had the hash thingies like above. The last one had the name with [#gunRi1v] appended.

So if you got this far, don't use marker names but just comments if you want to use the review panel in PR.

I think I have found a solution for this - I have added all comments in the Markers panel rather than in the pop up dialogue box when you double click a marker. Hope this helps!

Running into the same problem. Also, my markers are getting turned into jibberish inside PP after trying to export the active sequence to frame.io. It used to work!

This issue still exists in the latest version of Premiere Pro. Is anyone at Adobe looking into this? Because I had reported this in April. Now it's almost September. Still not fixed.
This may not be considered a 'major' issue (when assigning bug priorities) but it's definitely an annoying issue. The comment functionality should work as intended so clients can review and reply to comments. Extremely important & useful when working remotely. Otherwise, what's the point of frame.io integration?

Please look into this issue on priority.
