Timeline Rendering Confusion

I have a four minute sequence that happens to be a Adobe After Effect Segment (dynamic link) on my time line.

If I hit "Render In To Out" it takes roughly 90 minutes to render that AE created segment.

If I hit "Render and Replace," on the AE segment, let it complete, and then hit "Render In To Out" it'll take a total of about 12 minutes.

Madness!  Madness I say!  Anyone know what's going on here?

Render and Replace is a better workflow.  As Carlos Ziade said, Dynamic Link is not always working as expected.

Got it.  So no known reason per se, just more of a "That's just the way it is, work around it if you have to" kind of thing?

AKA: Premiere SOP.

Good to know!  Thanks.

Check renderers on both After Effects and Premiere Pro,

are both on GPU acceleration or Software Only?

System Specs by the way?

Dynamic Link is not that of a stable workflow by the way... better go for mogrts

when it comes to assets between After Effects and Premiere Pro.

I'll check that detail regarding GPU/software.  That's probably it.  I reset prefs recently.

I'm on a Mac Studio M3 96GB

Stablility isn't an issue. It's not- crashing or anything.

Agreed about keeping work Premiere native if possible.  However, this AE project dynamically linked is a rather sophisticated thing with over 3 dozen motion tracking instances.  It's a special case of content creation; not a lift a .mogrt could handle.

For motion tracking, I would rather do all motion tracking related clips

inside After Effects, export and import back to Premiere Pro.

Note that we are here user to user support and not Adobe team,

are you editing on external drives or local?
