Timeline Zoom delay/freeze

Timeline zoom shortcuts experience severe delays

1. Only occurs when Premiere Pro window is maximized

2. When keyboard shortcuts (-+) are used to zoom in timeline, nothing happens until I click within the timeline.

3. Eventually Premiere will freeze. Nothing will work.

4. Clicking 'restore down' will unfreeze and timeline zoom will work as normal

What's going on with this?
