Thanks to @R Neil Haugen  I've just discovered the wonders of auto tonemapping for my Panasonic Log files, and now curious if there's a work-around for Nikon z-log (EOSHD product, D850, yeah, files are 8b 420 but still hopeful because highlights are tricky.)

Hi lloyd_pdx,

Nikon N-log is natively supported in Pr v25.2, but it will require you to manually assign the color space. To do this, you may select the required clips in the timeline > right-click > Modify > Color > set Override Media Color Space to Nikon N-log/Rec2020. However, please note that this color space is designed for N-log media & not the Z-log. So it might require fine-tuning the color afterwards. You may try using the N-log profile & see if it gets you to a good starting point. You may refer to this link to learn more about Auto Detection of Log Camera Formats and Raw Media in Premiere Pro. Hope it helps.

Thanks,

I was trying out the variuos log formats listed in the Override section of the color management controls today, and there is a Nikon log option. Which actually works pretty decently with BlackMagic log via ProRes out of a 4.6k G2.

I see an N log option in my input luts, but it doesn't appear in my override options. Could be in 25.x; haven't upgraded yet. But thanks so much for this general direction. Seems really useful.
