Question

Too slow copying sequences between projects in a Production

We have a Production with Adobe Premiere 15.1.4 on a LAN 1Gbps, using a Avid Nexis. Normally all de media play fine. Only have one problem, when we want to create a copy of a sequence in another project, it takes almost 1 minute to copy and another minute to paste in the other project (then the macos wait symbol is displayed and premiere does not respond, it remains inactive).

The media files are in another project.

Does this happen to someone else? Do you know how to fix it?

Is this because 1Gbps is not enough? I really don't think this is what happens.

Maybe it's because Premiere has to check which project contains each clip in the sequence and takes a long time for this?

The second idea sounds like it's possibly the cause, especially if its a large production and long sequences with tons of assets on them.

Having the exact same issue. Taking ~5+ minutes to copy one 90 minute sequence to a new project. The sequence contains Multicams with very limited use of effects. Is there a way to fix this? It doesn't seem that reasonable that it would take 5+ minutes to do this?

Thanks
