track matte keying issue

hello all,

I have a really annoying issue, I made an effect last year for a project and I need to replicate it for a follow up video. Because of the length of time I can't for the life of me figure out how I did it nor find anything similar online.

I know it's track matte keying and I know how to make the video behind become the text, but it's making this translucent pink overlay that I can't achieve whilst keeping the text the video behind.

I know how to make the background pink and the text video behind and I know how to put a pink overlay on and take down opacity but neither create this effect.  Any help would be most appreciated.
