Question

Track Matte only shows a random piece of the image? Screen recording included

Hey there,

I want my text to appear "out of nowhere". This is the tutorial I am using as guidance.

- My png text comes in from the left into the middle.

- I have created a png alpha shape in which it is supposed to appear.

- Track matte on the png text layer, matte on top. Matte sources from the video layer with the text.

However, when I finish the process it only shows some random little piece of the image instead of the full thing. See screen recording video below. I thought it might be that my file is corrupted, but I have created a new project and it does the same thing. The tiny block that does show up in consistent when I reverse the image, by which I mean that it then transforms in only a little block that is see-through. When I scale up my shape it shapes with it.

How can I make sure that everything that is in the shape is visible i.e. get my track matte working as it's supposed to?

Nest your track matte.  Then apply your Track Matte effect to the nest.  Do your scaling of the mask in the Nest.  Keep the scale of the Nest at 100% in your main sequence.
