Hello! I am trying to track a subject area in content in the video that needs to be fixed. Is there a way to do this?

Hi there,

Welcome to the community. Are you looking to mask this area or composite another layer over the tracked area? Please share more details on what you'd like to do and let us know if you have access to After Effects.

Thanks,

Ishan

There are ways ... depending on ... all sorts of things.

The software can automatically track a mask (reliably) if there is some hard difference between the tracked area and the rest of the image. You still normally need to apply some corrections to the mask path/timing, using the Effects Control Panel's right-side extended out to give enough workspace to move through the image and manually adjust things.

Second, you can manually create the mask and then set track movement. Far more time-consuming, but it can be made to work.

Of course, for extensive and/or difficult masking, going to Ae (creating an Ae comp for the clip on Premiere's sequence) is the better choice. Ae's rotoscoping capabilities are a far more advanced mask tracking thing than Premiere has.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...
