Transcibation hallucination?

I used a video in Swedish to transcribe and create captions.

Steps I took:

  1. Went to Transcript under Edit-window and clicked on Transcribe
  2. It took less than a minute then this was the result.
  3. I then used the Caption feature to create captions from the Transcript.

I was able to replicate it again with another video and got the same results.

My expectation was it should have transcribed my video.

I thought it might transcribe it to some jibberish not understanding Swedish but that I might use to work from with the timecodes, but the result seems to me like a complete AI hallucination? The video does not include any mentions of Ted Cruz or Colbert. See below.

I used version 24.0.0 on Windows 10 Enterprise. Not using any 3rd party plug-ins or panels.

Adam seems to have it.

To be sure you get the language option:

If you are using auto-transcription be sure you set the default language when creating the project or in preferences.

If not, be sure you set the transcription default language before you transcribe using the sequence view.

In other words, if you autotranscribe without setting the language, it will use English.

If you do not set the language, place a clip in a sequence, and click the button to transcribe, it will use english.

Let us know if this gets it.

You're trying to transcribe a Swedish video using English speech recognition, how is this a bug exactly? What are you expecting??

Under Transcript menus, you can choose which language to use...
