Transcode MXF+XML to edit so I can rename source media
Thanks in advance for guidance.
QUESTION - what format do I transcode to or should I do something else?
BACKGROUND - I am collating multiple clips of short product videos of about 50 very similar products to both edit and hand of to a 3rd party. I want to label each source by SKU so I can manage them outside Premiere and hand off selected files with titles to the correct people.
PROBLEM - All my clips are in MXF+XML. I want to relabel the source media in folder. I KNOW I can rename and do the meta in Premiere Pro but I want to name the actual clip so I can manage it.
- I have googled this lots and read as much as I can and it seems renaming the actual MXF+XML is not on but I find no easy solution.
Therefore I thought I could transcode these to something other format in MEDIA ENCODER that allows source file renaming (e.g. MOV).
QUESTION - is this bananas? What format should I choose for best results so I can go on and edit in Premiere Pro? (PS I dont need the audio so can strip that out in the transcode.)
I am working on a PC Windows 11 with the latest Premiere Pro version / subscription.
