Transcript will not auto-delete when video is split?

I have a 46:00 minute video that needs to be split at 23:00 minutes into a Part One and Part Two.

The original transcript has been corrected, so before I make the split, I import the corrected transcript.

When I duplicate Part One from the original clip and use the Track Select Forward tool to Ripple Delete, the transcript for the entire 46:00 minutes remains. 

The same applies for Part Two, if I Track Select Backward, Ripple Delete, the transcript remains and when I play the video at what is supposed to be a start time at 23:00-minutes, it starts at 0:00.

Any insight? It seems like it has a relatively simple workaround that I can't seem to find.
