Transcription- Split & Merge disappear from Transcript panel when Program Moniter is active

Auto Transcription- Split and Merge functions disappear from Transcript panel when the Program Monitor/Timeline are active. They are available only when Source Monitor is active. WHY!?!??

I want them available when I'm editing my sequences on the timeline. This also effects seperating and renaming speakers. I can only do this when the source clip is active in the source monitor. Everyone's workflows are different. And I much prefer to do my editing of the transcript on the timeline so I can have several of my clips loaded. Instead I'm having to go through every source clip first and make sure to correct everything even stuff I might not use on the off chance that I end up adding it my sequence. If I add it to my sequence before editing the source then I'm stuck going back and forth from my sequence to the source clips in my project file and having to work on the transcript there. The transcript editing should work in both directions or at least give users the option to have edits work in both directions, i.e. currently you can only edit the split and merge dialogue and change speaker names in the source transcript via the Source Monitor for it to change in the Program Monitor/active sequence and that's the only direction the edits flow. I should have the ability to allow edits made in the active sequence/Program Monitor to change the source transcript too.

I've attached a screenshot of the missing split and merge buttons when Program Monitor is active and a screenshot of the buttons when the Source Monitor is active.

Thanks for responding quickly. Is there a way have the split and merge and edit speaker name functionality active while working on my project sequence in the Program monitor? That's what my workflow has been and it works for me.

@Rion307569986lsy What you are describing is intentional. In a Source transcript you cannot add or remove material, so where the transcript segments are drawn is flexible and thus you can split and merge them to your liking.

But in a sequence, the transcript you see is dynamically created by all of the clips in the sequence that have transcripts, and so the transcript segments are explicitly defined by those clip bounds.
