When transferring Premiere CC 2018 Projects between platforms, do you need the exact version number for each Premiere software?

I cannot currently open a Mac Premiere CC 2018 version 12.1.1 Project in Windows Premiere CC 2018 version 12.0.1.

Thanks.

In many, but not all cases, you need the same or higher version number to open a Premiere project file on any other system (the Mac or Windows issues is actually irrelevant). It's usually with any MAJOR update (like version 11 vs version 12, but also sometimes something like a dot release. When 12.1 came out, it required updating 12.0 project files. You just need to run the Creative Cloud software update on your Windows computer if possible and you'll be able to open the project with no problem.
