Question

Transition Effect Duration not working

Hey!

i have this problem in Premiere Pro:

When i set any video effect to my clips the animation starts only from the middle of the timing. For example, if my transition is set to 20 frames (to get from 0 to 100% opacity) the animation only starts from the 11th frame... so I get 0 frames of 0% opacity and then from 11th to 20th frame it goes rapidly (twice as fast than it should) to 100%. this happens with any effect, in the begening or the end of a clip, or in between as a transition.

Has anyone any idea why this happens? TY!

Hi Wulfhert,

Sorry about this. May we have full details about your system and media?

Thanks,
Kevin

Can you post a screenshot of the Effects Control Panel showing the keyframes?

Are the keyframes linear?

correction:
"...so I get 10 frames of 0% opacity and then from 11th to 20th frame it goes rapidly..."

Try pressing Enter to render the timeline and turn the red line above the timeline to green.

If that's not it, try unchecking Composite in linear color in the sequence settings.

Thanks for the answer, but unchecking the "Composite in linear color" downs't change anything for me. And the rendering part that's not necesary (although i did it anyway) because i have no special effects on my clip. is just a "dip to black" transition applied at the begining of the clip.

Right now i have Dip to Black set for 30 frames. So i get 15 frames of pitch black and then the animation goes from frame 16 to frame 30, like the first 15 frames don't even exist.

This thing happens on any transition effect i apply to my clips.

Dip to black is not suited as a single sided transition.

It's more designed to use as a double-sided transition.

Hence, the not showing the first half: transition needs to be tweaked in the Effect Controls first.
