Trying to import GPro V9 MPG files into Premier Pro

Hi guys...I have 8 GPro MP4 vid files that I want to import into the current version of PP. It won’t, something about HEIC. I’ve done it before with GPro vids. What am I missing and how do I take care of this?

    Are you copying the files into your computer before bringing them into Premiere? Please describe your workflow.

    I copy the files to a computer folder, then bring them in from my compurt hard drive.

    It happens when I both Drag-Drop and Import. I fixed it by using an application to convert and they came in fine.

    The application is UniConverter by Wondershare.
