Trying to Reexport MXF file with same settings as import

Hi Everyone,

Apologies if this is a dumb question! I recently shot footage for a client in MXF format (sony camera, 4K) and all I'm looking to do is trim the end of the clip (the cameraman & soundie saying a few bits that I'd prefer the client/editor not to hear!) and rexport to give their editor the raw files to work with.

When i went to export the file as MXF the size dropped by 2/3rds from the original despite only triming a third off the orginal clip. Is this normal? I'm nervous the Premiere presets for MXF has downgraded the file either visually (down from 4k for example) or in the audio.

Is there anyway to make sure I export the clip with the exact same settings the clip was imported with?

Just as an additional explianer to make clear - All i want to do it trim off 40 seconds from the end of the clip and not touch anything else in terms of file type/quality/size. If there is a different way of doing this instead of importing, triming and exporting in premiere then please let me know that instead as I'm all ears!
