Turning off Smart Quotes in Premiere Pro

Is there a way to turn off smart quotes/typographer's quotes in Premiere? Every time I insert text, I have to copy and paste straight apostrophes and manually replace every curly apostrophe. I've tried different fonts and they all seem to only allow curly apostrophes.

Correct answer Ann Bens

It in the Preferences/Graphics now.

Premiere Pro doesn't have good Glyph support I think. Unlike their other programs like Photoshop, and Illustrator where you can open up the Glyph Panel and insert a straight apostrophe thing or a marking for Inches. You can make a request for the developers for this over at https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro or see if anyone else has requested it and upvote. One option would be to create text in photoshop and dynamically link the PSD files for your text. But I don't think that's any easier than copying and pasting what you need in.

Maybe someone else has better info on this than I do though and they might chime in.

Side note... I'm on Mac OS and use a program called Keyboard Maestro and I just programmed it that whenever I type the " key to give me straight quotes instead of curled quotes. So you might consider looking at something like that.
