Two identical sequences. One lags, the other doesn´t
I don´t usually post in forums unless I get a really serious problem which inflicts my daily workflow. This is something that has been bothering me a lot for quite a while.
First I´ll sync up quite a few .r3d clips in a multicam subsequence, then I´ll make a multicam master and do a bit of editing, then I´ll want to go back to the sub to edit the r3d parameters. At this point the subsequence will be completely broken in terms of performance. I can even delete everything inside of the subsequence, clean up the project and remove everything except one clip inside the sequence and it will still be broken!
sequence slowdown bug - YouTube
I have made a YouTube video where I demonstrate navigating in two identical sequences, one has been used for an actual multicam, then cleaned. The other has been reconstructed as a new sequence with the exact same parameters, only difference is this one hasn´t been dropped into any master sequence. Same problem occurs even if i delete everything else in the project
This issue worries me as it´s hard to gauge what the performance of my system editing REDs should really be.. Will I need to continuously make new sequences to avoid this memory leak, or whatever it is? What about projects with many subsequences, many of which can not easily be reconstructed, will they be forever broken and run like crap no matter what kind of computer I use?
Hope to hear from Adobe or anyone seeing the same thing, thanks
