Two issues: insert into start of sequence and error insert photos

I am have having two issues on a project i am working on with PP:.

first, when i insert a video clip into my sequence via the insert button in the source window, it's putting the clip at the very beginning of the sequence rather than were the marker is at.
when i attempt to insert a photo into a sequence via the "insert' button, i get a message that " The source is shorter than the destination"

i'm assuming these might be connected since they both involve the insert button

any suggestions?

Legend

1. Insert will occur at the playhead position, or the In point, but not on markers.

2. Stills come with a five second default duration. You've got In and Out points more than five seconds apart in the sequence.

Please clear your in and points and see if that resolves your issues.

Sounds like you have at least an inpoint set and Pr is using it (as it's designed to)
