Unable to "Mark In" on merged clips in source monitor

I am trying to trim some merged clips and PP CC2020 will not allow me to place an in mark in the source monitor. The out marker works fine. If I open just the video file both in/out work as expected. Any ideas on how to fix this? I just uninstalled everyhting Adobe, used the Adobe cleaner tool, did a clean install of PP and the problem is still there.

The slightly inconvenient workaround is to rename the clip. I usually just add something to the end, or delete the "merged" from the end. Then they work as normal. Not sure why they can't fix this. Maybe they can have their AI autofix it. Ha.

I am experiencing the same issue. I would love for this to be user error as it is crippling. Anyone have any idea if this is a bug?
