Question

Uniform Scale automatically checked

This seems like a bug but it's very possible it's user error. I have a graphics template that I've created, containing text. Uniform scale is not selected on these. However, whenever I drag one to a new location on the screen, "uniform scale" automatically gets selected and I have to unselect it.

I currently have Premiere Pro v 25.1.0 build 73 but this has happened with the last few versions.

Make sure Uniform Scale is unchecked under Graphics > Vector Motion in the Effect Controls panel, not Video > Motion.

Thanks, I did that and it did not fix the problem. The checkbox that's getting automatically checked is the one under "Text > Transform" in Effect Controls. I also just had a weird thing happen that's only happened a couple other times, where, after the issue occurred and I unchecked the Uniform Scale box, all of my previously set values had 100 added to them. E.g., A value I had previously set to 0 is now set at 100.

I tested this in Premiere 25.1 and was unable to recreate this issue.

Can you share any more details or a screenshot?

Uniform Scale is the default in the Motion tab for any new clip added to a timeline. Anything in the Motion tab won't be saved to a template, only elements that are part of the Essential Graphic itself.

Thanks for the response. I think I could have been more clear. I'm referring to the uniform scale checkbox under the Transform tab of the text item, not the one under the Motion tab for the clip. When I first add the graphic to the timeline it works as desired, with that checkbox unchecked. It's only when I drag the text box to a new position on the screen that the checkbox gets checked.
