Universal update after change to a motion graphic template: Is this possible?

Is there a way to revise a motion graphics template and have it automatically update across my projects? For example, I have a motions graphic template for a caption style that is used throughout a number of projects. Now I want to change the template to reflect a different typeface. How can I revise the template and authorize this change to automatically update across all the projects that use it?
