Unknown Disk Error When Importing Video with Audio Into Premiere

Question

I am using Premiere Pro CC 2018, and I am working on a video for a client. The video footages were taken with what I believe is an I Phone, and my client sent the videos to Hightail for me to download onto my harddrive. The videos are all in MOV format, and they are pretty long (1 to 2 hours).

Most files work, but there are two files that fail to transfer audio over. When I import these two videos, I get the red triangle warning sign at the bottom right corner of my screen. It says that "an unknown disk error occured while attemping to write the following file".

I have tried the "commonold" technique on the Mac, and I've cleaned out my media cache, but these two videos still don't work.

Please help.

Sorry for the import issue. What is the exact dot version of Premiere Pro? Steps: FAQ: How to find the exact version of Premiere Pro you're using?

If possible, just for a test, transcode the files using Handbrake and try importing into Premiere Pro. https://handbrake.fr/

iPhones typically record videos with variable framerates. That makes it hard for most any NLE to handle, which is why it is wise to first transcode the footage to a fixed framerate, preferably in an edit-friendly codec.

As Vidya suggested, you may consider using Handbrake for this purpose.
