Unnecessary onedrive sync issue?

I have imported a large video file into Premiere Pro. Trouble is that every time I make changes in my project, Onedrive stars to sync that large file again. I thought Premiere Pro doesnt make any changes to the orignal video file? Any ideas what might be causing this or how to prevent it?

Many users have problems with OneDrive.

It is generally recommended to use media locally.

Thanks. The file lives locally but Im guessing that saving a project alters some sort of metadata that onedrive thinks is a file change?

OneDrive checks files in its linked folders every few minutes and tags something in the file header as to when it was last checked. That change in the header messes up Premiere quite easily.

Which is why OneDrive is a useful tool to move video to local drives, but you should then move that file to a video repository of your own making, not leaving it in a folder OneDrive syncs.
