Unsharp Mask CROPS frame- Issue in 23.1.0

Hi fellow editors!

I just upgraded to Premiere 23.1.0 and when I try to use the unsharp mask effect, it immediately crops the top 25% of the frame. I have restarted the computer and tried this on multiple clips in the sequence, all to the safe unfirtunate consequance. I removed all other effects from the clip and this still happens when I apply unsharp mask.

Has any body else experienced this? Is this a bug?

Does the sequence settings match the clip?

Thanks for your response. We shoot in 4K and deliver in 2K so we can use multiple sources and scale the clips but we've always done this and I've always been able to use the unsharp mask without this strange phenomenom.

When Premiere starts to act up the first thing to try is to reset preferences: To restore default preference settings and plug-in cache at the same time, hold down Shift-Alt (Windows) or Shift-Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting.

I appreciate that tip! I followed your advice, restored the preferences at start-up, but the problem still exists.
