UNSUPPORTED VIDEO DRIVER: Do I need to update my NVIDIA driver? CAN I even update it?
I've run Premiere Pro on my laptop for over a year now, it's never been the fastest but I just use it as a hobby so that's fine...it has crashed maybe once or twice, or when it lags I just restart it or quit for the day.
The last time I updated my NVIDIA Driver it started telling me it was an Unsupported Video Driver when I started Premiere, but it still boots up and works fine. There is also a note saying that there is a known bug in the recent NVIDIA driver which causes Premiere to crash..as I said before, that has happened maybe twice and doesn't affect me much. Recently, however, it started to lag a bit more and I have glitches that I can't get rid of and that stay in the video when I export it. I'm wondering if installing a newer driver would help?
However, when I put my stats into the NVIDIA Driver Downloads search tool, it tells me I have no results.
My stats:
Windows 11
NVIDIA GeForce MX130
Driver Type: DCH
Also I have a intel Core i7, 8th gen (don't know if that means anything)
So. Is there a driver that I can use? I know there are GameReady Drivers available for my configuration, but I saw somewhere that Studio Drivers are needed for editing because they are like GR Drivers plus more? Or have I reached the limitation of my laptop's power and just need to accept it and upgrade? Maybe to one with a non-NVIDIA driver or more specialized for video editing, as I bought this laptop with novice research and a small budget.
I know pretty much nothing about this stuff except for Google searches, etc., but I figure I need to start learning more about what I'm doing. Why drive a car if you don't know how to fix it? If you need any more info about my system let me know, and I'm grateful for any insight or advice.
