Hi,

I have uploaded a video (mov file) to my sequence and want to chop and change it. However, when I play the video it freezes a little and then if I skip to further in the clip it will completely freeze.

Is there anything I can do to solve?

Here is some info;

  • Premier pro 2019
  • All updates are updated
  • Using Dell inspiron 17 5000 series
  • Intel i5 7th gen processor
  • Mov file (from an Iphone 8 plus)
  • No error messages
  • This is the first time I have uploaded footage, usually I have added a series of images to create my videos i.e. stop motion etc (this is only my third project)
  • If I export the media then it works fine it’s just when trying to edit.
  • No third party effects or codecs installed
  • Using Mercury playback engine. Issue continues when using Mercury Playback Engine (Software Only)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Might want to consider converting the files to a more edit friendly format or using Proxies.

    Just to get the lingo correct: uploading is transferring a file from one computer to another computer.

    Premiere imports or ingests files.
