Using 2 external monitors with Adobe Premiere on a MacBook

Question

I have a new Apple M4Pro MacBook Laptop and I am trying to connect 2 external ASUS PA279CRV Monitors to use with Adobe Premiere 2026.

Using 1 external monitor and the laptop screen works perfectly. The problem arises when I try to use 2 external monitors. When I have the second monitor running, Premiere crashes when I try to open it up. I am usually able to get the project up, but then it pinwheels and crashes. Everything else with the 2nd monitor appears to be fine until I open Premiere.

The first monitor is connected via the HDMI port on the laptop. The 2nd monitor is connected thru a USB-C port via a USB-C->HDMI adapter.

I’m not sure if this is a MAC setting or a Premiere setting, or if this is even possible at all.

Hey Eric,Hi,Your M4 Pro MacBook Pro does support two external displays in addition to the built-in display, so this configuration should work.As a first test, I would eliminate the USB-C-to-HDMI adapter from the setup. Connect the second ASUS display directly from one of the MacBook Pro's Thunderbolt/USB-C ports to the monitor's USB-C input, or use a USB-C-to-DisplayPort cable, and see if Premiere still crashes.Could you also let us know the exact versions of Premiere Pro and macOS you're currently running? If you're running a beta version of macOS, please mention that as well.Thanks,Kevin

The USB-C to HDMI adapter for the second monitor may be causing the crash.Can you test whether Premiere still crashes if you launch it first, then connect the second monitor afterward?
