Using a behringer x2442usb mixer to mix audio

I can't find any tutorials or help on how I can use my mixer to control the audio track mixer in premiere pro. I tried setting the control surface to mackie and all of the other options but it still won't work. Please help.

I'm looking at the info about that Behringer model, and it sure doesn't look like it would work that way with Premiere. It's not a control surface, it's a mixer with USB output -- so basically you could send mixed digital audio to your computer by manipulating the faders manually, but I don't think it works the same way, say, a Korg Nanokontrol2 would.

I have a similar Behringer mixer (not that model) and WISH it could work as a control surface, but it's basically "all the brains inside the mixer output to your computer as digital audio" rather than "all the brains in the computer with a USB input device controlling them."

I hope that makes sense, and doesn't sound like a buzzkill.
