Using external monitor slowing Premiere down

Hey guys.

I have a brand new 2018 MBP (Vega 20 graphics) connected to a 4k LG monitor, via USB-C. The monitor works great in all apps, except Premiere. The interface becomes really sluggish and slow. I understand that the graphics card is using some of its computing power to drive the external display, so would this be solved by lowering its resolution, or is there another trick to make it work better? Does enabling Mercury Transmit affect this at all?

Thanks

Federico

    Hi Federico!

Lowering the resolution may help. You could also try going to File>Project Settings>General and adjusting the render settings. Here are some other tips for optimizing Premiere!
