Using Scene Edit Detection on nested audio causes premiere to lag and become unresponsive (softlock)
This caused me a nightmare today. So it seems like premiere has a massive issue or memory leak or something when using scene edit detect on nested audio. My timeline was becoming completely unresponsive today with files that I had been using without trouble just yesterday. No updates to hardware, software, drivers; no changes whatsoever. I was running hours behind and trying to figure out what the issue was: all my media was either very low bitrate or in a proxy format (1080p), so the files weren't the issue. I have plenty of power for editing in 1080p proxy (3900X, RTX 3080 12GB, 32GB RAM, all temps normal).
The only thing that helped me today was deleting/locking nested audio when using scene edit detect. Once I did that, playback worked normally. It seems like there's a memory leak (Premiere was using 30+ gigs for 1080p proxies) or something when using scene edit detect on any nested audio, as that's the only change that I made to the sequence to stop premiere from softlocking.
