Question

v24.0 Crashing for anybody else?

I've been experiencing lots of crashes after loading 24.0.  When it crashes, I have to kill it using the Windows 11 Task Manager.  If I try to relaunch Premiere Pro, it just locks on the load screen.  Only way to relaunch is to reboot Windows.

Tried Uninstalling Premiere Pro and reinstalling to no avail.

Hi @Mondokit,

Sorry for the frustration. First, please try deleting media cache. The best way is to relaunch with the Shift key held down. Then, delete cache from options in the Reset Options dialog box.

Still not working, try creating a new project. Then, import the old project into this new project. See if that works for you.

Let us know!

Thanks,
Kevin

My two cents - I updated Premiere and Premiere Beta this morning, and when I open the project I've been working on for the past couple weeks, both apps zoom up memory use to 94% and then crash the entire system within minutes (Mac Ventura 13.5.2) I guess I'll trash them and reload 2023 for now.

Hi there!

Sorry about the crash. What error are you seeing can you share a screenshot? Does it happen with a specific project?

Can you share more details on what type of media files are you editing?

Thanks,

Kartika

Did you delete your previous cache when you upgraded? Hold down shift as you double-click the PP icon.

Try running the Adobe Cleaner after you uninstall the programs and before you re-install them:
Also, reboot your computer between steps even if you are not asked to...

New Projects in 24.0.  Relatively simple projects too.

Are you working with updated projects, or new projects created in 24?

If you upgraded a project to 24, did you dump cache files first or not? Useful questions to know.
