Question

Varicam LT Cannot attach in camera proxy files

I have read two other threads on here with the same post, however, neither have received a suitable response from Adobe. The Varicam LT has this lovely feature that simultaneously records in camera proxies, however, Adobe refuses to link them together in post simply because one has 4 tracks of audio (even if no audio is recorded) and the other has 2.  One would think there would be a simple fix or workaround setting to remedy this, but it appears as though there is not.  I wasted an hour of my time on the phone with some Adobe outsourced Indian call center today, that proved completely useless.  Would love to get a response back from a knowledgable source on this, even if it is to tell me there is no fix planned at this time.  That way I at least know it is time to switch NLE.

P.S. Please don't recommend ingesting and creating Cineform proxies.  I know this works, but it defeats the purpose of having a great camera feature that already creates the proxies for you.  Ingesting and creating cineform proxies is redundant and wastes my time, when I can easily just take my editing to Davinci and link them no problem.

Matching audio channels is a requirement for the current design for Proxies in Premiere. Snippet from Help doc:

The supported workflow allows attachment of Proxies with other frame sizes & PAR (pixel aspect ratio) combinations that are divisible by the Full Res clip (for example, 1920x1080 1.0 PAR Full Res and 960x540 1.0 PAR Proxy or 1440x1080 1.33 PAR Proxy), but other parameters such as fielding, frame rate, duration, and audio channels must match.

I understand your desire for using the camera-built proxies, so please feel free to submit your desired support. Wishform - Adobe Premiere Pro
