Hello,

I have vector drawings made in illustrator and I want to put those drawings in premiere pro. How can I do that?

If its not possible to put vector file, can I somehow save as picture?

What picture dimension is best for making YouTube videos?

Thank you

Got it. Often in Illustrator people will make art to be animated later and if you want to move different parts around you need each element as a separate layer. Since you're just panning and zooming around an image it's ok that everything is flat.

Since I don't know what the resolution of your artboard is I can't tell you exactly what settings to use.

    Here's what I would recommend:

    1) Go to File>Export>Export As

    2) At the bottom of the Export window change the format to JPEG

    3) Try the settings in the screenshot

To keep things simple since you're not an illustrator user I won't suggest that you try to resize the art inside Illustrator to get the resolution you're looking for. If the resolution isn't high enough in Premiere you can overwrite the exported JPEG with the same name (so Premiere will automatically relink it) and change the resolution from "High (300 ppi)" to "Other" and try something like 600 or 1200. This is not the best way to do this, but it's possibly the simplest.

As for how to get rid of the black around the image, this is probably accomplished the easiest if you make a new track below your images in Premiere and apply a full screen Solid Color layer and make sure it's white. This way you can put your art on top of it and zoom in only on the art. If you zoom out too much or move the image around in the screen enough that you wish you had more white on the edge, the solid layer below will cover you. Just make sure you're only animating the art and that you leave the white alone.

    Are these full screen images?

Do you need layers from Illustrator or is flat ok?

YouTube and all standard video works at a 16x9 aspect ratio. 1080p video is 1920x1080, so you can start with the 1080p template in Illustrator.

If you don't need layers and can make do with a flat image then you can go to File>Export>Export As and choose PNG or JPEG as the format option at the bottom of the Export dialog.

If your artboard is already set up at 1920x1080 then you should choose "Screen 72 (ppi)" for the resolution, as this will give you a 1920x1080 exported file.

If you need transparency then you need to export as a PNG, but if don't need transparency and you export as a PNG WITHOUT having a background layer, be aware that your image will end up with a transparent BG. The white BG of the artboard does not get exported with your file. Alternatively, if you want to export as a PNG without transparency because it's a lossless format (while JPEG is a lossy format) then you can choose a black or white background color from the PNG export preview panel (see screenshot).

If transparency doesn't matter then you can export as a JPEG (make sure your working document is RGB or you're at least exporting as RGB, CMYK doesn't work in video). See the screenshot below for the JPEG export dialog.

Thank you for your effort davidabor.

I received drawings in vector format. I did not work on them and I'm new to illustrator. I don't understand what do you mean by layers and flat, guessing flat is something like if i draw in paint and just save and layers are those blue lines which you can drag around and completely destroy the drawing like I already did.

I will do a lot of zoom in and out in premiere (up to scale: 800) so I need a good format but I don't know how to export big format and which format to export.

I also need to expand the white BG so there are no black edges when i zoom out due to the dimensions.

I dont know if I wrote it to complicated. I just need high resolution pictures with big white background to import in premiere and with ken burns effect make a youtube video in 1080 without loss of quality.

    thx
