Vectorscope and video passport

Just looking for a simple answer here, because I've read far too many different things!

 

Vectorscope boxes on the premiere pro vectorscope... inners ones (broadcast safe) is about 75% saturation, outer ones are 100%. The chips on the video passport equate to 50% saturation, so therefore you want to line them up with the boxes on the vectorscope when matching/correcting, but not actually reach them and fall just short?

 

I've seen so many different clips saying in the box, out the box etc, any help would be appreciated!

inner is broadcast safe, outer is 100%  saturation.

Yes, in general, set them to probably 2/3rds of the way to the inner box. And check how your media plays. Does your sat peg at any time? If so, pull them back a bit.

Keep in mind even if you color calibrate your monitor to perfection the NLE must be setup 100% correct as seen in the video below. I am not suggesting you are unaware of that fact but other people reading this thread might not be hip.
