Thanks for the message, and for clearly describing the issue. I’m not aware of a widespread issue with Premiere Pro 26.2.2 causing this behavior, but freezes like this can sometimes be related to cached files or preferences.

As a first step, I’d suggest launching Premiere Pro while pressing the Shift key to open the Reset Options dialog. From there, try deleting all media cache, then relaunch the project and see if the behavior improves.

If you have automatic updates enabled, you may also want to consider turning that off in the future so you can choose when to update, ideally between projects.

Please let us know whether clearing the cache helps. If the issue continues, it would also be helpful to know:

• whether this happens in all projects or only one

• which Mac model you’re using

• how much RAM is installed
