Not auto updating is wise. Keep to that!

But ... one of the good things about their model is you can keep previous versions installed and use them. While installing a newer major version separately. You can't do that with say, Resolve. Only ... and only ... one Resolve version may be installed at any point in time, and it's a right pain to upgrade, test, and if bonkers, revert.

So ... you can try out Premiere 24, BUT ... make sure the installation dialog option to 'remove prior versions' is NOT selected!

Like you, I have auto-update turned off in the CC app preferences. But ... every new major version, they set the default in the Installation dialog to "remove prior versions" ... no matter what you set that preference option to!

I've complained of that for what, a decade now?

So ... install the new version. Even install the new public beta. Create new project files, and use the MediaBrowser panel to import the assets of 'current' working projects. Test them. 

If it works great, fine, keep working. If not, just close, open the older version, and get back to work.

New Items of Interest

1.  Color Management is vastly exanded, improved, and easier to control. They have added a Settings tab to the Lumetri panel, and all CM things are displayed there, from project settings, preferences, sequence, and clip. Much improved, and a great help to so many of us. They even have screen gamma options ... 2.4 (broadcast), 2.2 (web), and 1.96 (QuickTime player, for Macs) ... which set the gamma for the Program Monitor to use!
2.  Auto detect log and auto tonemapping are also huge. Many log formats are now "managed" by Premiere, in other words, it can recognize them and treat them specifically and appropriately. Coupled with the tonemapping option, it means that a very good algorithm is used to remap the dynamic and chromatic range of the clip to the sequence color space and dynamic range. Algorithms are vastly better than LUTs for log managment.
3.  The controls in item 2 above also mean that HDR clips from iPhones and other cameras are auto-remapped for use on Rec.709/SDR sequences, and yet, can also be used on HDR sequences in the same project.
4.  There are audio changes that make many things easier. Some are still in beta, but there's several options for audio controls since the 22.x version that are very helpful in speeding things along.
5. Edit by Text!!!!!!!!!!  ....Oh my freaking gosh ... have Premiere transcribe on import, then print out that transcript. It has time stamps on it! Then mark what you want to use, go to those time bits of the clip, select ... much of what I do is interviews, tutorials, or explanatory things. SO much spoken and re-spoken bits to sort through. This saves me painful HOURS watching through retakes!

Those are just some of the things that most have affected my workflow.

Cuando actualizas a una nueva versión puedes migrar todos tus ajustes a esta, y siempre al iniciar el programa te pregunta si deseas hacerlos.
Ahora, si no estás conforme con la nueva versión, siempre puedes regresas a instalar versiones anteriores.
