Video and Audio Exporting separetely on Premier Pro 2017

Preface: I do not know a lot about computers or computer systems so if you could keep the technical jargon at a basic level as I am unlikely to understand lol

I am a new user of Premiere Pro. I began a new project just in order to get the hang of things on the software. I am pretty sure that I know atleast the basics of the software as I have proudly edited together a few things that I thought looked cool. I looked up some Youtube videos that was showing me how to export my video. When I went to do this for myself, and the export window appeared, I followed the steps that I was told, which were to select my format, set the maximum bit thing and so forth, the options that the Youtube video appeared to have were not the same on my laptop. I pressed 'Use Maximum Render Quality' before then pressing the Export button.

I gave it time to load and when I checked on it after it had finished I had two files, one audio and one blank. It appeared that the exporting had separated my video and audio into two different files. The audio appears to be working fine yet the other (which I am assuming is the video) is not working at all. I have tried exporting the same project about 3 times now. I have changed the format each time with the same result after exporting. I am not really sure what this means and if I am or my system is the problem.

Additionally, I am using a very basic laptop with a Windows 10 operating system. I'm not sure if this helps, but I thought my low tech laptop might be the issue. When I was adding in a few clips to my project and playing it back in the preview it appears to jump abit and after research from this site, it appears that it could be my laptop. Before I used the application, I had to change my screen resolution aswell, if this information helps.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me with this. Thank You

Well it is specifically for uploading online, somewhere like Youtube, but if I wanted to then create a DVD with the file would it also work on that?

What are you intending to do with the file you are exporting?

The answer to that question will help you pick the correct file format.

The summary you posted shows you are taking your HD sequence and down converting it to Standard Definition. Is this to create a DVD?
