video clip freeze when I add text to sequence

When I add any effects like Text to the clip, it freezes when it reaches the Text layer. Everything else like the music continues. I can click anywhere but I can't stop the music and cant control the sequence any more.

Sorry to hear that. Which device is used to record media files? Have you tried resetting preferences and deleting cache files?
