I just bought a new laptop and I just bought all of the Adobe apps and I am trying to use Premiere Pro CC. I took a couple videos on my iPhone 8 and imported them but when I drag the video into the timeline it only plays audio and no video. Can anyone please help me.

yeah great, but consider also trying to upgrade to Windows 'pro' or 'Enterprise' later

I'd uninstall and re-install. Perhaps one of the DirectX libraries or video filters got corrupted. It's possible that Andrey would also have problems with VLC and other video applications. It seems unlikely that it is any of the below settings as they would not affect AE. Update video drivers as well. Also do any outstanding Windows updates on the lappy and of course make sure it meets the minimum requirements for CC2018.

In Preferences > Media there's a checkbox for enable accelerated H264 decoding. That will only work with Intel Quicksync I think which means your processor has to support it. It may also be supported on some old specialised H264 hardware decoders..

In Project settings check the engine being used for playback. If you don't have an NVidia Cuda card it should be software only.

hope this helps

Seems to me like your monitor settings are accidentally set to 'Alpha', set it to 'Composite Video'
