Video importing error

New to Premiere! When I import my video into premiere, it is faster than recorded yet the playback rate says it is at 100%. There are also multiple frames that are frozen throughout the video that were verified by playing frame by frame. The video imports into iMovie perfectly and has no issues, so I am confused as to why this would be the case for premiere
