Video Jittery after Export Premiere Pro CC 2020 + Media Encoder

My Premiere Pro CC 2020 and Media Encoder 2020 are rearranging the frames during export so the final video file is a jittery mess.

switching back to CC 2019 has solved the issue - can anyone else confirm this error and provide a solution?

i'm editing on a new 8-core iMac, 64 GB ram, Radeon Pro Vega 48 8 Graphics

OS 10.14.6

by any chance was the source material shot on a smart phone or using a screen recording program?  if so, the problems caused by your source having a variable frame rate. You can use media info to see your source clip info

https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

and you can use handbrake to convert your material from vfr (variable frame rate) to cfr (constant frame rate).

yes! this whole project was shot by various people using their phones.

this is very helpful. is there a way Media Encoder can convert variable framerate to constant frame rate?

It seems that some of your settings is off and thus create the mess. Make sure that the frame size, field order and fps of your source footage matches both your timeline and your export settings. If not, jittery export can be expected.

Averdahl, thanks for writing!

i have tried several different export codecs all with the issue - and to create my sequence i right-clicked my clip in the project window and selected "create new sequence from clip" so that the settings would match.
