Question

Video sharpness

Hi, I'm using a Canon M50 to film my videos and the default sharpness level (4) was way too high. I reduced it to 2 and I need an opinion about the look. To me it looks a bit blurry and when I crop the image it gets worse.

This is the video.

What do you think?

Thank you!

Francesco

Hello Francesco! ( @Vaporetto Italiano_- 2255 ),

I really thank you for your post. To my eyes, yes, the picture does seem soft. Try another setting and see how it goes. Feel free to post here again. I wish you luck with your videos. Are they for learning Italian? I see a "vaporetto" mug there. I've taken one a number of times in Venice! Take care.

Cheers,
Kevin

Hi Kevin (@Kevin-Monahan)!

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, I teach Italian and I run a YouTube channel for students of the Italian language. I hope you enjoyed Venice!

This sharpness thing is driving me crazy and I'm trying desperately to sort it out, as I'm filming videos for a premium course. So thank you so much!

The Canon M50 default sharpness level is 4 and it seems very very sharp (and 2 seems too soft). The videos are in Full HD (1080).

I filmed two sample videos: one with sharpness level 4 and one with sharpness level 3.

Sharpness 4

Sharpness 3

Thank you very much for your help, Kevin!

Have a wonderful day.

Francesco
