Video viewer and timelines to play together

I have wound up where my video plays in the monitor or viewer panel and the timeline doesn’t move at all. Then I get it moving in the timeline and the video monitor/viewer doesn’t move.  ??

I’m sure I clicked on something wrong.

Thanks, Gary

Without being in front of your computer to see for myself, the first thing that occurs to me is to reset your workspace.

The sequence and the Program Monitor are linked, no way to separate them.

The Source Monitor is separate from the sequence.

Thank you.  I had previously used Pinnacle Studio for video editing, so I'm trying to migrate myself to Premier so I can do better editing. Quite a difference tho.

So, how do I get the sequence (which I presume is the timeline) and program monitor to show together and not be seeing the source monitor? Is that what I want to be doing when editing the video?

Thanks!
