Videos are Out of Sync in Premiere Pro 25.1

I'm editing a retro-style video using MPG clips from an old Handycam camera. When I import these clips into my project and view them in the source monitor, the video and audio are out of sync by 20 frames. This only happened once I installed 25.1 two days ago. When I view the clips in their folder on my desktop, there are perfectly in sync and void of any issues.

I work with around 100 clips per video and cannot afford to manually sync audio and video every time. Has anyone else experienced this with the new update? I've re-installed the app, restarted my laptop, tried everything I could think of.

I have the EXACT same problem in PP 25.3.0.84...

Using Panasonic AG 3D1A cams in multicam music projects.

YES, they are OLD cameras, but I do 3D stereoscpoic music shows.

These are the BEST cameras for that.

PLEASE FIX THIS.

I've been a supporter of Premiere for over 20 years, and taught it on the collegiate level, even when Final Cut was eating Adobe's lunch.

Do.NOT. make.me.go.to.RESOLVE...

But I WILL if need be.

Thanks for the message, G. Have you tried rolling back to an earlier version of the app? Sorry for the frustration.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hmmm...
I'm not sure HOW to do that!
...is there a link?
AND, should I avoid future updates?

Hi @vlad_9363 ,
Are those .mts files?  Are you also in 25.1?  Have you tried the 25.2 Beta?

I have the same problem with files from my Sony handycam (AC3, MPEG-2 Video 720  x  576)

Is there any solution?

Does the issue exist if you roll back to 25.0?

I've been having this issue for several months, I think I noticed it around October, but I could be wrong.  Also I didn't go back to see if my previous work had the issue but I didn't notice (face isn't viewable in my work so you don't actually notice the issue much).

Exact same amount, 20 frames.  Since I work with very few files, I just manually unlink, shift the video to the left 20 frames, drag the ends to make the audio and video the same length, link.

My footage is all from an older Panasonic HD video camera, TM90 I think.  Issue persists on my desktop or laptop - both Windows 10.  Each time, the big clue is at the end of the clip - the audio has nothing for the last 20 frames.

I'm afraid I don't know which version my issue started, I alway make sure my apps are up to date.

My workflow to add files is to have a windows file explorer open and click-drag the files over to the bottom-middle panel to add the clip.

I have not tried other methods of adding files, files from other cameras, et cetera.  It's annoying but I just deal with it.

Hello, this exists in 25.1.0 and yes the issue still happens with proxies, and everything is in the correct frame rate.

Hi @Noor36227334rzc2,

Thanks for the message. Welcome to the forums.  Does this issue exist in 25.0? Can you confirm your project/ timeline/ audio is in the correct frame rate?  Does this issue happen if you make proxies?

Sorry for the frustration and thanks for reaching out.

If you play with VLC player, use CTRL+j to see media info.

What is shown with the audio?
